The Bank of Uganda
(BoU) is the Central Bank of the Republic of Uganda. It was opened on the 15th
August 1966. It is 100% owned by the Government of Uganda but it is not a
government Department.  Bank of Uganda conducts all its activities in
close association with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic
Development (MoFPED). Bank of Uganda is responsible for monetary policy and
maintaining price stability.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Supervises, cooks and ensures presentation of well balanced meals of
    the highest quality incorporating cultural and dietary needs that meet
    staff expectations.
  • Keenly reviews, modifies, and creates new menus as needed.
  • Receives items required for the kitchen operations and accounts for
    all kitchen equipment, machines and supplies.
  • Verifies quality of food stuffs and ensures they meet the required
    standards.
  • Supervises the work of the kitchen personnel while evaluating and
    developing their skills in the process
  • Responsible for cost effective production of wholesome food ensuring
    that it is served at the appropriate time.
  • Prepares duty roster and assigns duties to the cooks.
  • Responsible for high standard of hygiene in both kitchens, equipment
    and Machines.
  • Undertakes the day to day running of the kitchen activities
    involving the production of food items with the kitchen team.
  • Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant for the Bank of Uganda Support Staff Category 4 job
    should hold a Diploma in Hotel and Institutional Catering
  • At least three years of proven working experience in food production
    from a reputable hotel or institution.
  • Age: 25- 35 years
