About US:

The Regional Health
integration to Enhance Services (RHITES)-North, Lango project is a Five-year
contract funded by USAID and implemented by a Team of partners with JSI as the
prime. The JSI team includes, Doctors with Africa CUAMM, AMREF Health Africa,
Another Option, and The Medical Concierge Group (TMCG). RHITES-N, Lango is
aimed at improving the use of integrated health services in the Lango
Sub-region of Northern Uganda’s, strengthening the health system to sustain
gains made by earlier projects, improving key population-based national health
indicators and building the capacity of the district local government to carry
out a sustainable and locally-driven response to the HIV epidemic, while also
improving TB, Malaria, Nutrition, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent
health (MNCAH), and water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) outcomes through
strengthening of existing structures and processes, improving access to and
strategic use of health and nutrition information, strengthening
community-health facility systems and expanding innovation through integrated
health and nutrition services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Work closely with the Data Officers to quantify the tools needed to
    ensure sustained data collection at the health facility.
  • Engage with the data officers to ensure that best practices of
    medical records storage and management are implemented.
  • Ensure that data on additional indicators outside of DHIS2 reporting
    system are collected in time.
  • Manage the HIV care data captured on patient forms during patient
    visits, ensuring it is transcribed to pre-ART and ART registers and
    updated in the
  • Uganda EMR in time.
  • Work with the data officers to prepare HMIS reports and submit them
    in DHIS2 in time.
  • Compile weekly, monthly and quarterly supplementary data not
    reported in DHIS2 and submit them in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
    Unit in time.
  • Ensure that confidentiality of data collected and stored is
    maintained at all times.
  • Ensure safety of all equipment in the data room.
  • Perform basic data analysis on data from HMIS data.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold a certificate in Statistics, Medical Records,
    Computer Science or related field or qualification. Must be computer
    literate and with speed for data entry
  • At least two years of experience in handling medical records
  • Previous experience of working with international NGOs, MOH, and
    public health facilities will be an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Practical experience in working with routine health information
    systems at the facility (including RRH), district or national level
  • Experience in supporting HIV / AIDS and TB data management
