Job Summary:  The Credit Evaluation Supervisor will be
tasked with developing and analysing medium to large fundable credit proposals
through effective credit appraisal and due diligence process in order to
achieve quality portfolio growth

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare proposals for all credit applications, taking into
    consideration the Bank’s credit policy, with the result of getting quick
    feedback from the relevant approval levels and so as to manage customer
    expectations.
  • Apply appropriate deal structuring and review/sign off work done to
    ensure that it meets set standards and complies with credit policy.
  • Monitor proper pricing on a revenue/expense basis as well as
    application of full collection of fees and commissions, whilst growing the
    revenue line.
  • Structure and document all aspects of credit application in line
    with the Bank’s risk management framework
  • Analyse customer accounts and information to derive any additional
    incomes and business that can be developed from the customers in line with
    the Bank’s      policies and
    procedures
  • Conduct a compliance review of the documentation received and
    request for any pending documentation/information if any in line with
    product parameters, credit policy and procedures.
  • Present respective analysed files in the Management and Executive
    Credit Committees on behalf of the branches and or business units and
    customer exposure in line with the Bank’s policies and procedures

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:                                                    

  • The ideal candidate for the Housing Finance Bank Credit Evaluation
    Supervisor job must hold a  first degree from a recognized
    university, preferably in Business Studies, Finance and Accounting,
    Management, Commerce, Economics and Statistics.
  • Four years of working experience in business/ credit appraisal or
    related field.
  • Advanced credit analysis skills – interpretation of financial
    information
  • Candidate should have been in Credit Evaluation section for at least
    6 months
  • Computer competence
  • Accounting background
  • Should be passionately committed to management of risk and
    delivering quality service.
  • Should have a good industry knowledge and leadership skills with
    demonstrated competencies in championing customer focus.
  • Have excellent negotiation, coordination and organizational skills
  • Ability to exercise the highest level of integrity and
    confidentiality
  • Have excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
  • Good interpersonal skills – ability to quickly build rapport with
    new people
