About Us:

CEDOVIP is a local
NGO that works to prevent violence against women in Uganda. We work with women,
men, government institutions, policy makers, civil society and the media.

About Project:

Center for Domestic
Violence Prevention (CEDOVIP) through support from UN Women will be
implementing the Government of Sweden and the EU-UN Spotlight Initiative to
Eliminate Violence Against Women and Girls.

Job Summary:  The Program Manager will support the Executive
Director in the implementation of CEDOVIP’s strategic plan and to provide
leadership to the program and administration staff. The ideal candidate will
have demonstrated commitment to promote girls and women’s rights. S/he will be
committed to getting results in a fast paced environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide day to day leadership and direction for staff.
  • Mentor and guide staff in planning, implementation, documentation
    and monitoring of activities.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic directions for CEDOVIP
    programming.
  • Provide leadership in CEDOVIP’s national advocacy level work
  • Serve as a member of the organization’s leadership team.
  • Maintain constructive and respectful relationships with all partners
    and stakeholders.
  • Represent CEDOVIP in national and international events.
  • Foster and sustain a positive, innovative, results-oriented
  • Other duties as requested by the Executive Director.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold an MA degree or relevant experience.
  • Six years of relevant work experience in violence against women
    prevention with at least 4 years in management.
  • Excellent writing and computer skills.
  • Proven commitment to VAW prevention work.
  • Experience in/familiarity with CEDOVIP methodologies a plus
