Job Summary:  The Finance Intern/Trainee will support the
Finance Business Partner teams by providing constant financial oversight,
financial analysis and clear financial reporting to ensure accountability and
compliance to the client’s financial and administrative regulatory frameworks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide advisory support services to client operations by providing
    first line oversight and support to Finance Business Partner teams.
  • Provide financial resource management including for client funds
    budgets, financial transactions, and financial procedures with emphasis on
    risk and material areas.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients prior to periodic closing on
    recordings, reconciliation/certification and quality of data to promote
    timeliness and accuracy of data input.
  • Provide resource monitoring to ensure proper resource utilization
    against approved workplan/initiatives to confirm alignment with
    organizational priorities.
  • Monitor data inputs and provides feedback to Finance Business
    Partner teams/clients on data quality, dashboards indicator, compliance
    and exceptions.
  • Provide financial analysis to client financial unit(s) including
    analysis of General Ledger (GL) information; and age analysis of assets
    and liabilities to support oversight of reconciliations by clients.
  • Ensure clients are in compliance with USAID and Donor financial
    management policies and procedures.
  • Identify and address areas where client may be at risk of breach of
    donor compliance and advise the financial unit accordingly.
  • Perform any other duties as instructed by the Manager.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance,
    Business Administration or any related discipline from a recognized
    university.
  • One year of knowledge and understanding of financial data extraction
    and analysis.
