innovative, efficient and impact-oriented organization that works towards
realizing a community of Ugandans empowered to sustain healthy behavior, while
significantly contributing to Ministry of Health in the areas of HIV/AIDS-care
and prevention, TB, Malaria and Child survival, maternal and reproductive
health, as well as access to Safe water.

Job Summary:  The Research Manager CM4FP Project will ensure
that all research activities undertaken under the Consumers Market for Family
Planning (CM4FP) project and any other research work assigned has stakeholder
engagement and with a focus on timely results, end-user needs, quality of data
and knowledge management. This position will also work closely with the
research agency and the PSI team to implement all the research under the CM4FP
project and other research assignments. The candidate will have a particular
focus on stakeholder engagement, study promotion, knowledge management and lead
logistics planning, training and quality control and assurance of data
collection activities in the field.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate the work plan for each of the CM4FP research studies
    ensuring that all components are being carried out as planned;
  • Monitor and manage project budgets according to donor standards and
    PSI policy.;
  • Prepare prompt and ready to access knowledge and information
    generated by the SIL department including development of abbreviated
    highlights of key research findings to be shared internally and externally
    in a timely manner;
  • Lead CM4FP training to ensure that proper logistical planning and
    training takes place as per study design and work plan;
  • Liaise with Head of SIL and research agency staff implementing the
    CM4FP research activities to ensure the overall quality of the data
    collected in the field and ensure adherence to study design and work plan;
  • Run all the required data analysis, packaging and dissemination
    within the CM4FP as well as other research work;
  • Attend external planning meetings with government agencies and other
    partners to promote and get buy in and participation for CMF4P project as
    well as the other research implemented by PSI Uganda.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate must hold a Degree and Master’s degrees in
    Statistics, Demography, Behavioral Science, Population Science or
    equivalent.
  • Professional qualifications: 
    SPSS, STATA, MS
    ACCESS and SQL
  • A minimum of seven years’ experience in research and analysis.
  • Leadership skills
  • Strategic and analytical thinking skills.
  • Report writing and presentation skills
  • Planning and organization skills
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to drive change and innovation.
  • Good team player.
