The Uganda
Communications Commission (UCC) was established to implement the provisions of
The UCC Act 2013 Laws of Uganda with a principal goal of developing a modern
communications sub-sector and Infrastructure in Uganda, in conformity with the
operationalization of the Telecommunications Policy.

Job Summary:  The Officer Broadcasting Compliance will
mainly evaluate applications and conduct technical monitoring in support of the
implementation of broadcasting infrastructure regulatory frameworks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • To conduct a technical evaluation of applications for broadcasting
    licenses, type approval and broadcasting numbering resources in line with
    the respective frameworks.
  • To develop and implement operational mechanisms and tools to aid the
    evaluation of applications for broadcasting licenses, type approval and
    broadcasting numbering resources in line with the respective frameworks.
  • To prepare and submit reports on the status of assessment of
    applications in line with applicable unit key performance indicators
    practices and policies
  • To carry out maintenance and calibration of monitoring and test
    equipment to ensure its functionality and to periodically report on the
    condition of the equipment, adequacy, functionality, and quality of
    equipment in line with the unit practices and policies,
  • To provide technical support to market surveillance activities in
    the unit in line with the appropriate frameworks and procedures
  • To develop and maintain up to date, accessible, accurate and
    reliable databases and filing systems in support of the unit activities
    and in line with the unit policies.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) Officer
    Broadcasting Compliance job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in
    Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Broadcasting
    Technology or a related field;
  • Membership in a professional body is an added advantage         
  • At least two years of working experience in telecommunications or
    broadcasting in a similar corporate setting
