About US:

The Office of the
Prime Minister (OPM) is the Leader of Government Business in Parliament and
responsible for the coordination and implementation of Government Policies
across Ministries, Departments and other Public Institutions.

Job Summary:  The Finance Manager (NUYDC) is responsible for
overall financial management of the Northern Uganda Youth Development Centre
(NUYDC) through managing the finance and accounting function, and serving as an
internal advisor to the management team on finance and accounting matters.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Maintains up to date accounting records embracing all programme
    transactions as per programme estimates
  • Checks, codes, and processes payment requests and accountabilities
    in conformity with Donor Regulations and Government of Uganda Financial
    and Accounting Regulations.
  • Actively participates in budget preparation, management and controls
    including the preparation of payment schedules.
  • Prepares all centre financial reports and other documentation
    according to agreed upon guidelines.
  • Supports the Director to manage the centre’s budget in line with the
    set policies and guidelines.
  • Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by the
    supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • Applicants should be a holder of an Honours Bachelor’s degree in
    Commerce, Business Administration with Accounting / Finance Management
    option, or its equivalent, from a recognized University, as well as
    Professional qualifications in Accounting like CPA, ACCA of level III or
    its equivalent from a professional accounting body. The applicant should
    possess at least three years’ experience in financial management and
    accounting practise.
  • Analytical skills, thoroughness, accuracy and attention to details
  • Interpersonal, Communication, Management skills and team work
  • Computer skills with high proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Age: 23 – 45 years
