Limited (MDI) is a registered financial institution in Uganda and is adherent
to the Central Bank’s regulations and guidelines and was founded in 1994 to
provide quality microfinance services.

Job Summary:  The Branch Manager shall be responsible for
supervising and managing UGAFODE branch by: Overseeing growth of branch revenue
through the developing and execution of branch business plan in line with the
local market opportunities targeted toward mining identified ecosystems and
containing costs, training of staff and maintaining acceptable service
standards in compliance with regulatory and other UGAFODE policies and
procedures..

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Branch business growth by leading all effort at Branch level to grow
    both Assets and liabilities through enhancing sales, keeping up to date
    with changes and developments in the branch’s local market.
  • Overseeing approvals of loans that are below 5M threshold in line
    with Branch/Head Office credit committee as well as managing the loan
    administration, monitoring and recovery processes at branch level in
    compliance with set loan standards of the institution.
  • Driving a customer centric culture at the branch focusing on
    providing a high quality customer experience.
  • Risk & controls management through emphasis of a sound risk and
    control environment by ensuring adherence to Credit all other operational
    policies and procedures at all times at the branch for efficiency.
  • Together with Branch Operations Supervisor and in the exercise of
    dual control standards, takes charge of vault in terms of cash in and cash
    out, balancing vault, over all cash custody in compliance to internal
    control processes and procedures of UGAFODE (MDI).
  • Undertaking day- to- day/ periodic reporting on all branch
    administrative and business growth aspects to the respective stakeholders.
  • Chairing Branch Credit committees by appraising branch loans that
    are below 5M and escalating those above 5M to Regional and Head Office
    credit committees in accordance with UGAFODE credit policies and
    procedures.
  • Management of the branch budget in terms of operations, customer
    service, employees, administration and sales to enhance budget
    efficiencies by way of budget adherence and cost containment practices at
    respective branch.
  • Taking full responsibility for guiding of all direct reports,
    focusing on all aspects of sound people management e.g. Coaching,
    On-the-job training, Development, Performance Management, compliance to
    set standards and Employee engagement.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate for the UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI)
    Branch Manager – Kagadi job must hold a Good University Degree preferably
    in Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, business administration, or finance. A
    good track record of branch management/”acting capacity” is desirable.
  • At least 4 years’ experience in financial, people and business
    operations. Extensive and in-depth knowledge of UGAFODE services and
    products.
