day to day administration of the facilities at East African Playgrounds. They
support the Country Director by taking care of operational support duties. The
position holder shall foster a culture of accountability and ensures that
organisational resources are used most cost-effectively. This position requires
a high degree of confidentiality in dealing with personnel and finance matters.
They must be friendly, courteous and have a professional approach towards
children and staff.
- Management of programme teams; Coordinating the construction, educational
play, MEL and admin team in their work - Collating and producing weekly work plans and monthly reports;
Responsible for putting together concise but detailed reports for senior
management - Act as implementation leader on all of the programmes; Ensure all
the logistics are prepared in order for the programme to take place
effectively - Schedule and organise programme staff; Scheduling staff and ensuring
there is enough staff for the programmes - Coordinate and manage the international volunteering projects;
Coordinating and managing the project logistics of the volunteering
projects as well as supporting the welfare of the in- country team
ensuring protocol is adhered to - Manage the scheduling of vehicles; Manage the vehicles schedules to
ensure they are in place as needed - Oversee the maintenance programme; Along with the Quantity Surveyor
support the logistical scheduling and planning of the maintenance
programme - Build the capacity of the team; Working with the HR officer, provide
training to build the capacity of the team - Inventory management for all facility assets; Manage East African
Playgrounds stock to ensure there is always an accurate account of assists - Any other duties that EAP deems suitable
- A minimum of five years of management experience in emergency or
development programmes at international/ regional level - Management experience implementing capacity building programmes in
complex settings - Management experience in one or more of the following programmes: child
protection, partnerships, institutional capacity building or
organisational development - Experience of remote managing programmes in complex settings
- Proven capacity to supervise, and coach staff and partners on both
technical and programme management skills - Experience of, and commitment to, working through partners and
contributing to partnership strategies at large - Ability to analyse information, evaluate options and to think and
plan strategically - Ability to write a clear and well-argued assessment and project
reports - Proven ability to represent the organisation to donors and other
stakeholders - A team player who can work collaboratively and with people of
diverse backgrounds - Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience,
tact and diplomacy - A high level of written and spoken English
- Commitment to the aims and principles of EAP. In particular, a good
understanding of EAPs mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure
this continues to underpin our support
- Experience or knowledge of working and living in relevant
regions/contexts - Experience working and building the capacity of partners on
technical issues
