Ministries is a ministry of Watoto Church that rescues vulnerable children and
restores dignity to them by providing holistically for their physical,
spiritual and emotional needs. Watoto has operations in Kampala, Wakiso,
Mpigi and Gulu.
Job Summary:  The Social Workers will appropriately
reintegrate children into their respective communities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • To carry out trace back/investigations in and around communities and
    use individual care plans to develop tracing & reintegration plans.
  • To engage vital stakeholders in the tracing process both internally
    and externally and also engage identified existing biological families to
    develop resettlement plans.
  • To ensure that resettlement and transitions of children are planned
    and coordinated by relevant stakeholders and ensure that children leave
    with all the required documentations.
  • To aid in the smooth transition of children by ensuring minimal
    trauma in the children as they leave the homes and facilitate healthy
    transfer attachments.
  • To ensure that children are regularly followed up after leaving the
    children’s village.
  • To provide reports on the adjustment of children in their families
    and maintain an accurate up to date WISE database for every child.
  • To ensure that information on a child is shared with core
    stakeholders and maintain a good working relationship with other NGOS,
    government personnel, Watoto and others churches for learning and referral
    purposes.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the Watoto Social Worker job opportunity should
    hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Works, Social Administration and
    any other related field.
  • Three years’ experience in a busy, preferably international
    Organisation that deals with Child welfare.
  • Should be updated on current issues concerning child protection and
    welfare.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to
    communicate to all involved stakeholders.
