incorporated as the New Vision Printing & Publishing Company Limited
(NVPPCL) seeks to recruit highly motivated and dynamic individuals to fill the
following positions on a contract basis for a project. The project is focused
on improving access to justice for all, through improved accountability of duty
bearers; and an empowered citizenry that ably articulates their rights. The
project concentrates on media activities which help the poor and vulnerable
persons to access justice and create awareness on their rights. The project
envisages amplifying the voices of the voiceless and responsiveness of office
bearers leading to an improved community justice that respects and promotes
human rights. The project will operate over a period of eighteen months.
Job Summary:   The Editorial Coordinator will oversee the
project editorial content and production timelines; direct the tone and theme
of the content and provide guidance on content and schedules that affect the project
editorial calendar.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Manage multiple documents to ensure that they are relevant,
    informative and grammatically correct.
  • Actively listens to live news, and reviews online news daily to
    ensure the media agenda is known at all times.
  • Deliver insight, advice and industry intelligence, to help achieve
    the communications objectives.
  • Perform tasks as requested with a high level of accuracy,
    professionalism and efficiency, including processing irrelevant and missed
    content.
  • Adhere to the company policies and procedures and the code of
    conduct.
  • Where appropriate keeps up to date with legislative requirements.
  • Ensures personal adherence to workplace health and safety
    requirements and either addresses or brings to management’s attention when
    others are in breach of these requirements.
  • Provide administrative support as required for the Project
    Coordinator.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or
    Communication or in a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Two years of journalistic experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Research and analysis – comprehensive reading, analyzing and
    summarizing of information, making sense of large amounts of information and
    complex situations.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent computer skills (Ms. Office applications, Outlook, etc.)
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Communication – express ideas & information in an accurate,
    relevant and timely manner utilizing a two-way communication approach.
    Demonstrates the ability to interpret and convey information for their
    particular audience. This includes responding to audience feedback &
    adapting their approach.
  • Integrity – demonstrate openness, honesty & consistency in
    behavior; generates confidence in others through professional &
    ethical behavior.
