Job Summary:  The Customer Experience Application Developer
will translate customer experience requirements into IT and system requirements
and carry out development, testing, commissioning as well as support of
customer experience system developments
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Solution
Development
  • Data collection, storage and analysis system for customer
    information from various sources
  • Development of  critical
    process control points to provide early warning alerts for the top 15
    processes
  • Development of predictive algorithms for customer behaviour based on
    datasets from different sources
  • Development of customer experience solutions covering different
    aspects/modules like automated customer response collection, customer
    issue history analysis, customer activity alerts
  • Development of local solutions to key customer experience challenges

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Barclays Bank Customer Experience
    Application Developer job should hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer
    science or software engineering
  • Additional qualifications in Statistics and will be an added
    advantage
  • Experience in application development especially web applications
  • Experience in algorithm building and big data set analysis
  • Experience in key applications like R and python
  • Experience in carrying out integrations to other systems especially
    using the standard ISO 8583 interfaces
  • Data-oriented personality
  • Experience with development of mobile applications for IOS and
    Android as well as USSD technology is a must
  • Fluent in application development packages especially PHP, JAVA,
    MYSQL, PYTHON and VISUAL STUDIO
  • Ability to translate CX and business requirements into system and IT
    requirements
  • Devising automated solutions to current and future CX challenges and
    needs
  • Ability to collect and analyse larger data sets
  • Ability to develop predictive algorithms taking in data from sources
    such as customer complaints, transactions, customer specific behaviour
    among others
  • Experience in establishing a detailed program specification through
    discussion with key stakeholders
  • Clarifying what actions the program is intended to perform
  • Breaking down program specification into its simplest elements and
    translating this logic into a programming language
  • Evaluating and increasing the program’s effectiveness
  • Adapting the program to new requirements, as necessary
  • Ability to think outside the box in terms of coming up with solution
  • Critical thinker
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques will be a great advantage
  • Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking
    of its performance
  • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is
    relevant for building analytic systems
