The Uganda National
Oil Company Limited (UNOC) was established under Section 42 of the Petroleum
(Exploration, Development and Production) Act 2013 and incorporated under the
Company’s Act 2012. It is a limited liability company wholly owned by the
Government of Uganda. The overall function of UNOC is; “To handle the State’s
Commercial interests in the Oil and Gas industry.”
Job Summary:  The Information and Data Management Assistant
will support the implementation of the Company’s Information Management (IM)
Policy, custody of company records and documents and ensure smooth retrieval of
documents as and when required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Support the implementation of an Electronic Document Management
  • Support the implementation of the Company’s Information Management
  • Support the embedment of IM Policy.
  • Manage the Records and Archive centres in line with the IM Policy
    and guidelines
  • Manage company reference library.
  • Support the development of appropriate training materials to
    facilitate compliance awareness.
  • Continuously assess space and security requirements of current and
    archived company documents and records.
  • Maintain company document register with quick links to electronic
    data management system for ease of retrieval.
  • Track In-Coming and Out-Going Communications for the company on a
    daily basis.
  • Support the process of tracking actions from all correspondences and
    ensure that they are closed.
  • Update KPIs for Data and Information Management.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Uganda National Oil Company Limited (UNOC)
    Information and Data Management Assistant job placement must hold an
    Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science, Computer
    Science or other related field.
  • A minimum of three years of work experience in Information
    Management in a busy and reputable organisation.
  • Working knowledge of both manual and electronic document control
  • Proven ability to develop and implement and electronic document
    control system
  • Experience in establishing Information Management processes
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Advanced MS office skills is a must have.
