Authority (CAA) is a corporate body responsible tor regulation of civil
aviation in Uganda. It manages Entebbe international Airport (EIA) and thirteen
(13) other upcountry aerodromes. CAA carries out its work in conformity with
international Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended
Practices (SARPs).

Job Summary: The Corporation Secretary will provide
administration support to Civil Aviation Authority, Board Chairperson, Managing
Director and Deputy Managing Director, the Corporation Secretary also provides
advice on legal matters affecting the operation of the Authority and
contributes towards the success of the organization and its mandates through
the provision of company secretarial and legal services.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Corporation
Secretary job placement must hold a Bachelors (Hons) Degree in Law plus a
Master’s Degree in Law from a recognized University with a postgraduate
Diploma in legal practice. (Possession of Master’s Degree in Aviation Law
will be an added advantage). - Must be a Registered Legal Practitioner and an officer of the High
Court of Uganda with a valid practicing certificate. - Additional qualifications in Air Law and/or Chartered institute of
Secretaries and Administrators will be an added advantage. - Experience in Legal and Board affairs of large public or commercial
organizations. - Should be familiar with Government machinery for establishing and
administering Air Law and Regulations. - Should be familiar with procedures of bilateral air services
agreements - Should be familiar with court procedures both nationally and
internationally. - Should have relevant Management experience of at least 10 years in
Legal work, in Aviation Administration, Business or Management or any other
related field, 5 of which should be at a Strategic Management level. - Membership to a respective professional body is an added advantage.
- Prior service in a successful Regulatory body would be an added
advantage - Experience in drafting legal instruments relating to
domestication of international instruments of Global Organizations - Experience in carrying out negotiations at high Government and
Business levels backed with strong methods and networking skills. - Experience in conducting meetings.
- Experience in preparing concise reports.
- Must have proven managerial competence with Legal and Board affairs
coupled with high level of personal integrity, high strategic orientation
and leadership skills with clean record of service. - Should have ability to prepare and present concise reports;
- Must have working knowledge of various computer programmes such as
MS Excel, MS Word and relevant packages. - Familiarity with ICAO Regulations, Procedures and Practices would be
advantageous;

- Age: A mature
person of at least 35 years. CAA mandatory retirement age is Sixty (60)
