Job Summary: The
Community Development Officer will initiate, oversee and support the
implementation of case management, child protection strategies and overall
project activities in the zone. The Officer will be responsible for
coordinating and managing and providing mentorship and guidance to the
community workers to ensure that the activities are implemented in a timely
manner and within the required CP standards. The PO will represent and advocate
for Save the Children’s work and organizational priorities in child protection
with a wide range of external parties including Government (OPM), communities,
donors during field visits, and other humanitarian agencies operating in the
zone

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicants for the Save the Children Community Development
    Officer job placement must hold a degree in social work/social sciences,
    education, community psychology or equivalent.
  • One year of relevant work experience in child protection programmes.
  • Previous experience of managing a team of implementing staff in
    Implementation of project activities
  • Solid knowledge base and practical experience in community based child
    protection approaches,
  • Case management and child participation methodologies.
  • Desirable
  • Experience in building relationships, fostering interagency
    coordination and experience of representation to external parties.
  • Strong self-starter, able to set up and manage child protection
    programmes.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
