DFCU Limited was started by the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) of
the United Kingdom and the Government of Uganda through the Uganda Development
Corporation (UDC) under the name of Development Finance Company of Uganda
Limited. Later restructuring brought in DEG (of Germany) and International Finance
Corporation (IFC) as equal partners with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake
in the company. Its objective was to support long-term development projects
whose financing needs and risk did not appeal to the then existing financial
commercial lending institutions.
Job Summary:   The Transactional Banking Sales Manager will
be responsible for Transactional Banking Product Sales to corporate customers.
The incumbent will work with RMs and Senior TB sales managers to ensure optimal
cross sell ratio of TB products within the portfolio. The jobholder will also
be responsible for growing the Bank’s balance sheet i.e. liabilities and assets
in line with the set objectives
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Deliver Transactional Banking financial target for the business
    portfolio and work with Senior TB Sales Managers and Segment Heads to
    ensure overall performance target for the business segment is achieved
  • Work with Senior TB Sales Managers for Mentorship and coaching to
    enhance product knowledge and sales ability
  • Identify areas of improvement for existing products for customers,
    processes and make recommendations
  • Initiate and implement customer service best practices and ensure
    that internal support is received from other departments for service
    quality improvements
  • Maintaining the highest standards of customer service to maximize
    the returns from identified relationships and attract new business from
    targeted customers in terms of the Marketing and Business Development
    Market Plan
  • Responsible for product management, financials, volume, trend and
    variance analysis for the portfolio
  • Actively update and monitor the deal pipeline for growth. Enable
    business to measure impact and value derived from the revenue Centre.
  • Ensure adequate pricing of Trade and Cash Management products on a
    revenue/expense basis and ensure full collection of fees and commissions,
    whilst growing this revenue line for Revenue maximization
  • Develop and continually expand the target market of Trade and Cash
    Management products, provide Training and coaching and work actively with
    Relationship managers, Treasury, IT & operational personal and
    Business Banking.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the DFCU Bank Transactional Banking Sales Manager
    job placement must hold a  Bachelor’s Degree in a
    Business-related course
  • Certification in Computing is an added advantage
  • At least three years’ experience in Banking or previous experience
    as Sales executive in Telecom, Breweries and FMCG companies.
  • Knowledge of Bank systems and Products are an advantage
  • Ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally
  • Good knowledge of trade, supply chain, and cash management products.
  • A good team player able to work under minimum supervision
  • Self-drive and initiative
  • Excellent communications and engagement skills
  • Strong selling and negotiation skills.
  • High-level of integrity
  • Sharp, self-confident and performance driven
  • Self-starter and excellent in sales management
