throughout the developing world. International Justice Mission partners with
local authorities to rescue victims of violence, bring criminals to justice,
restore survivors, and strengthen justice systems.  The International
Justice Mission (IJM) Uganda is working to eliminate property grabbing in
Uganda by bringing rescue and restoration to individual victims, accountability
to their perpetrators, and transformation to the public justice system as a
whole.
Job Summary:  The National Human Resources Officer will have the opportunity to
support the National Director of Human Resources (NDHR) with some of the
day-to-day office admin, staff wellness, and national human resource
responsibilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Human Resources and Staff Care
  • Support NDHR with staff professional
    learning and development through coordinating training, issuing
    certificates and updating training records as required.
  • Support the administration of the staff
    care program including staff care-related development and training
    activities, booking trainers, rooms, refreshments, taking bookings and
    cancellations etc.
  • Support the NDHR with the National
    Office recruitment process and other HR functions as required.
Admin and Operations Support
  • Assist the NDHR with the coordination
    and support of the National Overnight Retreat; and other National
    initiatives as requested;
  • Maintain up-to-date records (manual and
    computerized) relating to all areas of HR activity in coordination with
    NDHR and Field Office HR/Admin persons;
  • Make occasional staff presentations,
    team training and general office announcements as needed.
  • Assist the NDHR as requested including
    ad hoc administration duties such as photocopying.
Development
  • Participate in IJM programs in
    professionalism and Christian spiritual formation.
  • Be proactive and creative in dealing
    with HR/Admin/Staff Care programs attending meetings and providing
    feedback and suggestions on ways to improve and implement.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for International Justice
    Mission (IJM) National Human Resources Officer job placement must hold a
    Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Human Resources training is
    preferred;
  • Two years of experience in HR/Admin or
    Front Office Management or similar position in an NGO is preferred;
  • Excellent communicator with fluency in
    English and Luganda,
  • Organizational and customer service
    skills
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office
    Suite;
  • Driver’s license and experience driving
    off-road vehicles preferred; and
  • The successful candidate should have
    strong attention to detail, be able to multi-task successfully, handle
    stressful situations in a professional manner, and consistently present a
    positive image to internal and external customers.
