The Infectious
Diseases Institute (IDI) is an international non-profit organization which is a
partnership of infectious diseases and public health specialists. The overall
objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems with strong emphasis on
Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity Development. IDI has five
operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention,
Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory services (provided
through a partnership with the Makerere University – John Hopkins University
Core Lab) and Outreach.
Job Summary:   The Filing Clerk will be responsible for
arranging and filling of documents in the finance sections and the management
of the Finance & Administration Archive.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Tasked with general file arrangement and management;
  • Maintain the document database, and help other employees find
    documents and files they are looking for, and make sure that documents
    they are given are stored and labeled correctly for later use;
  • Arranging documents for filing, filing and guiding other staff
    members how to retrieving documents;
  • Develop an efficient filing system to make updating and retrieving
    files easier;
  • Work with the stores and procurement sections towards improving
    records keeping there;
  • File as requested, finance correspondences & Tax documents;
  • Facilitation of document retrieval during External Audits;
  • Follow policies and confidentiality dictations to safeguard date and
  • Perform any other duties as may reasonably be assigned from time to

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Filing Clerk job must hold a Bachelor’s degree
    in Records and Archives Management.
  • A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in filing, handling
    and managing records, as well as managing an archive.
  • Highly organized individual.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
