Job Summary:  The Registration Assistant – Ocea Reception
Center will bridge communication gape during registration through translation
and promote daily activities of the reception center. Under the supervision of
the information and community mobilisers registration assistance ensures that
reception center meets the minimum standard of operation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Translate information to Persons of Concerns PoCs in the language
    they understand most and translate information from the PoCs to the
    registration officers.
  • Ensure Persons of Concerns (PoCs) are settled in orderly way to
    ensure smooth running of the registration processes; where necessary
    support crowd control at the reception centers.
  • Under directive of the information and community mobilisers,
    participate in the day to day running of the reception center activities
    to ensure compliance with the minimum operating standard.
  • Compile weekly monthly and quarterly reports in accordance to WV
    reporting procedures.
  • Ensure confidentiality on information
  • Ensure the privacy of personal information and confidentiality of
    information provided by the PoC during and after registration.
  • Liaises with protection staff and partners to ensure timely
    identification and referral of persons of concern for protection follow
    up.
  • Forwards quarries of PoCs to respective parties regarding
    registration processes and entitlements; where applicable provide relevant
    information to Pocs regarding registration process and procedures.
  • Collaborate with protection staff and/or partners in the delivery of
    assistance and programming, including provision of identity and
    entitlement documentation.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the
    supervisor
Key Performance Indicators:
  • UNHCR Registration Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are
    implemented in accordance with relevant UNHCR standards and policies.
  • Persons of concern have fair and transparent access to registration
    procedures
  • Identify persons with specific needs and refer to
    protection/litigation desk in accordance with the SOPs

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the World Vision Registration Assistant – Ocea
    Reception Center job placement should preferably hold an “A” level
    certificate of education or an equivalent.
  • Additional training in basic principles of International Protection
    is an added advantage
  • One year of experience in similar role with reputable Organization,
    UN Agency or the Government
  • Good computer, typing and data entry skills
  • Excellent knowledge of English and local
  • Knowledge of any of the languages spoken by the refugee communities.
  • Very Good Knowledge of Bari languages (Kakwa, Pojulu, Bari, Kuku
    etc.), Juba Arabic, Keliko. Knowledge of other commonly spoken languages
    in South Sudan’s Equatoria Region shall be an added advantage.
