Job Summary:  The Business Relations Officer (BRO) is
responsible for the delivery of business development initiatives and
innovations targeting the private, public and corporate sector execution of the
employers’ engagement strategy and the ACCA Uganda students’, affiliates’ and
members’ development mandate, contributing to the ACCA vision of being No. 1 in
developing the accountancy profession that the world needs
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Support the employer engagement strategy by identifying and engaging
    high value employers/key influences
  • Champion the ACCA cause of developing mutually beneficial
    partnerships/platforms for business growth.
  • Promote the ACCA qualification and other services/ products through
    presentations, face to face engagements with key stakeholders; employers,
    learning providers, universities and high schools identifying prospects
    and signing them up for products appropriate for their specific needs and
    contributing to the achievement of market targets.
  • Lead the conversion of ACCA trainees to membership by undertaking
    proactive initiatives to improve conversion; guiding and supporting
    affiliates meet the requirements of relevant work placements, mentorship
    and meeting their PER (Practical Experience Requirement).
  • Organise and support students’ and member events that contribute to
    their career development or continuous professional development.
  • Promote the ACCA professional insights and research – sharing it
    with the wider ACCA fraternity via social media and other digital
    platforms and by organising/ managing thought leadership events held
    jointly with collaborating partners.
  • Proactively promote the ACCA Approved Employer scheme to employers
    in all key economic sectors in Uganda, maintain a database of the approved
    employers ensuring that those meeting the benchmarks obtain the Approved
    Employer status.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor of Arts in Business
    Administration, Marketing or any related commercial qualification from a
    reputable and recognised university or college.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to work alongside
    different levels of employees across the organisation and effectively
    manage internal and external customers
  • Dynamic, ability to multi-task, work in a team, under pressure, with
    your own initiative and to close a sale
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of developing and implementing
    successful marketing initiatives and/or business plans within a defined
    budget and resources
  • Possess excellent spoken and written communication skills and with
    ability to present to high level stakeholders in a confident and mature
    manner
  • Analytical skills to distill information from available data to add
    value to marketing initiatives and preparing concise reports on research
    findings
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications,
    including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships across a spectrum of
    stakeholders
  • Substantial experience in a business relationship/ development or
    marketing role gained in a customer focused environment and possess proven
    and effective long term relationships skills with a wide range of
    stakeholders
  • A genuine team player with a willingness to support colleagues
    during times of demand and readily contributing to the development of
    yourself and your colleagues.
  • Demonstrable experience of having dealt with customer complaints and
    being able to resolve such complaints within a short period
  • Keen user of social media
