About US:
Following Cabinet
approval of Green Jobs and Fair Labour Market Programme and further directive
on the Pilot of Songhai Model on a Government Land in December 2016. The
Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development has kick-started the
implementation of the Programme. The programme is aimed at creation of green
and decent employment, enhancement labour productivity, and reduction of
poverty reduction. The programme targets both educated and uneducated women and
youth. Overall, the programme contributes to reduction of the high levels of
unemployment among educated and uneducated through: –
  • Promotion of workplace re-skilling and skilling for educated and
    un-educated;
  • Promotion of resource efficiency and social safeguards at
    workplaces;
  • Enhancement for the productivity of workers and enterprises
Job Summary: The
Projects Construction Assistant will provide support in the establishment of
common user facilities and informal sector support needs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Support Quality Productivity Team in development of drawing plans,
    BoQ, identification of equipment and tools for various projects
  • Support Quality Productivity Team in training beneficiaries on the
    use and maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Support Quality Productivity Team in the supervision of civil works
    for the Green Jobs Programme Projects
  • Support Quality Productivity Team in the development of Public-
    Private Partnership arrangement for the management of common user
    facilities
  • Support Quality Productivity Team in the development of Memorandum
    of Understanding, Maintenance Plans for Equipment and Tools including
    undertaking a needs assessment for the Jua-kalis.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Survey or
    related disciplines.
