Job Summary:  The Senior Legal Officer Registration will
provide legal registration services that will facilitate effective management
of the Bank securities portfolio and enable the achievement of a robust asset
quality in line with the Bank’s policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Conduct due diligence prior to safe custody or release of
    securities, prepare supporting documents and obtain request endorsements
    in line with the Bank’s policies and procedures.
  • Monitor, coordinate and process lease extension and renewals for the
    Bank’s securities in line with agreed SLAs and turnaround time.
  • Implement mechanisms for accessing, assessing, retrieval, stock
    taking and auditing of the securities database in line with the Bank’s
    policies and procedures.
  • Lodge documents to facilitate perfection of securities and ensure
    that all the Bank’s Securities are duly perfected by external lawyers.
  • Deliver timely and cost effective legal advisory services to
    management on issues arising in the course of the conduct of the Bank’s
    business in line with growth strategies and the Bank’s policies.
  • Address all queries regarding the perfection of the Bank’s
    securities and maintain a record of relevant records of correspondence/
    files and ensure safe custody thereof.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by Management from
    time to time.
  • Make periodic reports to your supervisor on assignments and
    responsibilities in agreed format.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:                                                    
  • The ideal candidate for the Housing Finance Bank Senior Legal
    Officer Registration job must hold a Bachelor of Laws (LLB -Hons) from a
    recognized University.
  • A Diploma in legal Practices from the Law Development Centre.
  • Three years of experience in securities and registration in a
    Banking institution.
  • Sound understanding of the laws and regulations relating to
    financial institutions.
