Twin is a non-profit
organisation that owns its own trading company. This unique structure allows us
to combine trading, marketing and programs to build market systems that deliver
better livelihoods for farmer groups in coffee producing countries. Established
in 1985, Twin has a strong track record for connecting actors along the value
chain, to facilitate deep and global partnerships between smallholder producers
and their customers. Twin has worked in coffee and cocoa in Uganda for over ten
years, working across three regions with more than 10 different producer
organizations. The Program Coordinator will supervise and contribute to the
delivery of new and ongoing projects in Western, Eastern and Northern regions.
Job Summary:  The Program Coordinator is part of the
Producer Partnership Programmes (PPP) team and is responsible for the
successful implementation of Twin’s projects in Uganda. The ideal candidate
would have strong experience in project management and facilitation, alongside
some commercial knowledge (ideally in agricultural value chains) and strong
business acumen. The role will be based in Kampala with frequent visits to the
project areas. To complete the team in East Africa, based in Uganda, we are
looking for a Program Coordinator. This is an opportunity for the right person
to work closely with the Twin team in both Kigali and London to ensure the
successful delivery of our programmes in Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Project Delivery
·        
Responsibility
for ensuring the successful development and implementation of the Twin Uganda
program, with operational support and guidance from the wider Twin team
·        
Plan and
coordinate project delivery including maintaining records, liaising with
consultants and partners, collating internal reports and monitoring expenditure
against budgets
·        
Gathering
narrative and financial information for donor reporting, collection of
monitoring and evaluation data in coordination with the Kigali Program Officer
and MEL officer
·        
Guide
and assist on the preparation of annual resource planning to improve and
maximize resource utilization
·        
Deliver
capacity building training to partners according to the area of expertise
·        
Facilitate
and coordinate learning between different projects
Business
Development
·        
Identify
and pursue opportunities for Twin to build new partnerships and expand its work
in Uganda
·        
Network
with key partners and stakeholders in Uganda, including supply chain partners,
to support project objectives as well as Twin’s wider work in trading and
market access
·        
Support
with the navigation of national policy directives as relevant to agriculture,
coffee and cocoa
·        
Coordinate
associates and identify relevant country based expertise
Other
·        
Support
internal communication within Twin and provide information for social media
updates and other external communication purposes
·        
Any
other reasonable duty as may be assigned

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
·        
The applicant
must hold a Bachelor’s degree in relevant topics
·        
At least
five years of field experience in managing donor funded projects in agriculture
value chain development, including financial reporting (in coffee or cocoa will
be an advantage) and/or relevant agriculture supply chain experience
·        
At least
two years’ experience in capacity building of farmers organisations in at least
one of the areas of Twin’s expertise (sustainable agriculture, governance,
quality, business management, gender, access to markets)
·        
Strong
project management and analytical skills
·        
Knowledge
of the Uganda coffee sector
·        
Track
record of building strong stakeholder relationships
·        
Able to
manage programs with an inclusive attitude towards a diverse groups of
stakeholders
Skills and
abilities
·        
Proven
ability to plan, coordinate and monitor project activities
·        
Good
communication skills (written and oral)
·        
Fluent
in Luganda and English, Kiswahili as an advantage
·        
Proactive
approach
·        
Accuracy
and attention to details
·        
Ability
to work independently and as part of a team and manages own time effectively
·        
Ability
to work in multicultural environments
·        
Willingness
to travel to project locations in Uganda min 50% of the time

successful applicant will be offered a consultancy contract that will vary in
time depending on the experience and ability to directly deliver training, as
well as on future project funding.
