Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system
    reports to balances.
  • Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and
    related transactions.
  • Maintains historical records by filing documents and ensuring that
    there’s supporting documentation for each of the transactions in the
    system.
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing
    related results as needed

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The Accounts Payable Associate – Jumia (Internship) must hold an
    ACCA/CPA qualification. If you’re a current student, please state when and
    what papers you will be sitting for next. Relevant bachelor’s degree (Not
    required but is a plus)
  • One to three years of experience in accounts payable or accounts
    receivable department
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards and
    compliance requirements
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in analyzing and summarizing data using Excel(Advanced
    Level is a plus).
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Effective organizational, stress and time management skills
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member
