• Review documentation of approved credit facilities from branches and
  confirm perfection for recommendation for disbursement in line with
  divisional guidelines/mandates, bank policy and the law
• Review and compute duty and fees payable on registrable securities,
  ensure timely registration or dispatch of securities to external advocates
  for registration of Bank charges, support the timely return thereof and
  advise on the advocates’ performance against their service level
  agreements.
• Carry out legal search and advise on likely effect of draft bills
  and new legislation on the bank’s operations
• Prepare and maintain the department registers of securities received
  from the branches for perfection/registration as the case maybe in
  accordance with departmental guidelines.
• Upon instruction draw and prepare documentation for loans and
  advances, and contracts for procurement of goods and services by the Bank
  and other third party contracts in accordance with the law and Bank
  policy.
• Represent the Bank in courts of law and the Legal Division at
  Management Committee meetings
• Prepare reports in line with internal guidelines and advise on legal
  risk

• The ideal candidate for the Centenary Bank Legal Officer job
  placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Law
• Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice
• At least two years of post-enrolment experience preferably in a
  banking environment
