Uganda has 29 ATMs and over 600 staff.
Job Summary:  The Foreign Exchange Sales Assistant will
handle FX Sales.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Work closely with Financial Market Sales to identify clients that
    need to be on-boarded onto the different Foreign Exchange Electronic
    channels available for clients- Transaction Banking Foreign Exchange and
    Straight to Bank
  • Support the Financial Market Sales Desk and Relationship Managers in
    increasing client level profitability by training clients on Requests for
    Quotes
  • Track utilization of conversions and develop a dashboard to track
    progress.
  • For Transaction Banking Foreign Exchange systems- ensuring end to
    end set up of Stand alone request for quotes and Requests for quotes  have 
    been done in conjunction with Client Service Group. Thereafter work
    with Transaction Banking Foreign Exchange Sales to assign margin tiers.
  • For Straight to Bank set ups, sending the Contract terms to clients;
    receiving these forms back and working with E-Client Services to onboard
    the client.
  • Tasked with selling and conducting the demos with clients for the
    respective Electronic-communication platform.
  • To identify and report all exceptions on non-compliance with standard
    controls and weaknesses inherent in the standard controls
  • Document a process flow that will be followed for all client set ups
    including establishing Turn Around Time 
    for each department handling the documentation.
  • Handle customer queries within the day or escalate if unable to
    resolve
  • Ensure I remain alert to the risk of money laundering and assist in
    the Bank’ efforts in combating it by adhering to the key principles in
    relation to: identifying your customer, knowing your customer, reporting
    suspicions, safeguarding records.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Standard Chartered Bank Foreign Exchange
    Sales Assistant job should hold a University degree
  • Basic knowledge of Foreign Exchange and Money Markets
  • Proven ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and marketing skills
  • Sound understanding of corporate treasury products
