International is an international non-governmental aid agency for humanitarian
aid of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, founded in 2005 by Malteser
Germany (founded in 1953). The relief service has more than 50 years of
experience in humanitarian relief and currently covers around 100 projects in
about 20 countries in Africa, Asia and the Americas. Malteser International has
been working in Uganda since 1996, with projects in several regions of the
country. In Northern Uganda and more specifically in the West Nile region, MI
is active in the WASH sector in Rhino Camp for improving the lives of both the
host population as well as the refugee population.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Ensure that all MI procurement is completed according to procedures
    at all times, and completed within the minimum timeframes stipulated in MI
    policies
  • Ensure that an accurate and detailed monthly PR tracking report is
    circulated to all projects, and that procurement team provides a quick,
    efficient, and supportive services to projects, with communication
    regarding difficulties and concerns
  • Ensure that all MI transport is handled within the MI policies, and
    that a monthly car pool report is produced, with full analysis of fuel
    consumption and maintenance issues to manage the fleet in the most cost
    effective way
  • Ensure that an accurate monthly asset register is produced and
    shared with all projects to facilitate donor reporting and tracking of
    assets
  • Ensure that all maintenance needs are met in a timely manner, with
    high quality works
Security: Oversee correct implementation of safety
& security procedures for the whole program in close collaboration with the
Regional Operations Coordinator;

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Malteser Logistic Coordinator job
    placement must hold a Degree in (Public Business), (Business &
    Management) Administration or related field
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience
  • Fully Computer literate (Microsoft office) and good working
    knowledge of ITC technologies Working experience in the Green belt region
    for NGOs would be an asset
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Excellent written and spoken English; Luganda, German, French would
    be an asset
