- Appoint, promote and exercise
disciplinary control over persons holding public office in Parliament; - Review the terms and conditions of
service, standing orders, training and qualifications of persons holding
office in Parliament; - Provide a Parliamentary reporting
service; - Provide such other staff and facilities
as are required to ensure efficient functioning of the Parliament; - To cause to be prepared in each
financial year, estimates of revenue and expenditure for the next
financial year; and - Make recommendations to Parliament, or
with the approval of Parliament, determine the allowances payable and
privileges available to the Speaker and Members of Parliament.
Job Summary: The Senior Information Officer – Producer
will ensure radio content for the Parliamentary Radio meets the approved
broadcasting standards

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generating and researching ideas for programmes
- Managing the logistics of getting presenters, features writers and
equipment together at the right place at the right time - Ensuring an archive of audio resources which can be re-used
- Tasked with the editing of programmes and news scripts as necessary
- Coordinate the recording and live broadcast of out of studio events.
- Ensuring compliance to copyrights and media law.
- Managing audience feedback.
- Using technology, such as Cool Edit Pro, Pro Tools, Adobe Audition
and Imediatouch, for editing and production purposes. - Carry out regular air checks for presenters to ensure quality output
- Responsible for the broadcast work flows
- Supervise the producer, presenters and feature writers
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold an Honors Degree in Mass Communication or
Journalism with a bias in Broadcasting OR Bachelor’s degree with
Postgraduate Diploma in Mass communication or Journalism - At least three (3) years working experience in the broadcasting/
radio industry - Ability to use Sound editing programs and equipment like Cool
- Edit Pro, Pro Tools, Adobe Audition and Imediatouch
- Good command of both spoken and written English
- Creative and innovative
- Good editing skills
- Good problem solving skills
- Excellent leadership skills
