Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist will define and formalise the category plan for the
commodities managed, execute the sourcing process including supplier
identification, negotiation and supplier selection. The incumbent will deliver
sourcing results to contribute to saving targets while ensuring that Service
Level Agreements (SLA’s) with the business are being met. The jobholder will be
accountable for the vendor contracting process, including amendments, service
requests, addendums and work orders. The Procurement Specialist will assist in
the management and tracking of benefit realisation, value leakage prevention
and issue management, relationship and performance management (post-contract).

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Analyse, identify and recommend go to
market strategy for sourcing events (risk and value driven). - Based on business needs and when new
needs arise, search for potential suppliers within preferred supplier
lists, and identify additional suppliers if not on preferred supplier
lists through market analysis. (to be signed-off by the Procurement
Manager. Ensure thorough understanding of the said commodity, suppliers in
the market and competitive behaviour. - Conduct RFx (negotiation, supplier
selection) and support the responding suppliers in case of commercial
issues. - Draft and execution of the commodity
strategy - Facilitate clarification of technical
questions between internal stakeholders and suppliers where required - For selected sourcing, follow-up on
technical evaluations with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with
timeliness for RFx process
Conduct an
efficient and effective analysis, reporting and cost reduction process

- Perform a cube analysis on all
commodities being managed. - Develop a cost savings model with the
relevant sourcing portfolios and ensure that cost reduction and risk
management is the key driver in the commodities being managed. - Ensure that cost reduction targets are
exceeded within commodities responsible for. - Drive local supplier development across
all sourcing engagements. - Ensure that exchange rate fluctuations risks
are adequately mitigated. - Ensure adherence to Stanbic Bank
policies and procedures throughout the sourcing process - Perform trend analysis of buying
patterns and analyse sourcing reports produced from spend analytics.

- Proactively develop relationships with
key external stakeholders including key suppliers to ensure Standard Bank
receives appropriate co-operation when required. - Build and develop relationships across
the organisation with various internal stakeholders with the intention of
breaking down silos to maximise business growth

- Develop a category approach by analysing
category data and reviews with stakeholders. - Manage implementation of the Category
Strategy including the coordination of projects and stakeholders. - Conduct market research monitoring
category indices and market changes - Manage contract changes and negotiations
in line with the category strategy - Develop and manage category demand plans
- Monitor and manage category purchasing
compliance - Provide input into category purchasing
process where required. - Manage category buying through the
purchasing area.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Stanbic Bank
Procurement Specialist job placement should hold a Business Degree - CIPS or equivalent professional
Procurement qualification - Five years of experience in procurement
processes end to end, sourcing, contract and supply chain management. - Extensive strategic purchasing and
supply knowledge. - Attention to detail and ability to
assimilate, appraise and extract information quickly when faced with
numerous ad hoc queries. - Ability to influence and manage
stakeholders. - Good negotiations skills
