• Verify estimates for
  outstanding claims, IBNR and unearned premiums and other technical
  provisions for insurance Companies.
• Review Actuarial valuation
  reports and liaise with Consultants and Actuaries on actuarial matters
  including products, valuations, and critical business statistics required.
• Keenly monitor players in
  the insurance industry to ensure they comply with the provisions of the
  Insurance Act on a risk sensitive basis
• Review products, premium
  rates and commission rates.
• Work in liaison with the
  Legal Department, handle complaints from insurance players and the general
  public
• Collect data from industry
  reports and update the existing actuarial models
• Provide technical advice
  in view of the Authorities legislation and regulation.
• Assess re-insurance and
  front the necessary arrangements
• Carry out any other duties
  assigned from time to time

• The ideal candidate for
  the Insurance Regulatory Authority
  of Uganda Actuarial Officer job placement must hold a relevant
  Bachelor’s (Honours) degree from a recognized University.
• Professional qualification
  in Actuarial (at least 4 papers).
• Three years’ experience in
  insurance preferably claims, underwriting or reinsurance in a reputable
  organisation.
