the Great Lakes region, producing a wide range of market leader brands in
soaps, edible cooking oils and fats, detergents, beverages, personal care
products and plastics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Liaise with the Selection and Appraisal
    Advisor to facilitate shop floor recruitment, performance appraisal,
    contract renewals, confirmations, promotions and complying to manpower
    optimisation reports
  • Work closely with the Training and
    Development Advisor to conduct and evaluate Trainings done at the shop
    floor
  • Liaise with the Employee Relations and
    Welfare Advisor to motivate and implement the disciplinary and grievance
    handling procedures, participate in all motivational/welfare activities
    and award ceremonies
  • Sensitise employees on company General
    Rules and Regulations, Collective Bargaining Agreement and implement the
    same
  • Ensure daily staff attendance, shift
    schedules and all leaves taken are updated in a timely manner
  • Liaise with Payroll advisor to cross
    check attendance reports generated from logic time and handle absenteeism
    cases
  • Sensitize staff on the importance and
    appropriate use of the punching attendance machines as well as the
    consequences of failing to comply
  • Conduct routine man power and plant
    checks to ensure all staff comply with established policies and
    procedures, following up and resolving of issues within the plant
  • Ensuring all employees adhere and comply
    with PPE (Personnel Protective Equipment) requirements
  • Conduct routine staff roll calls as per
    the procedures
  • Guide line managers, supervisors and
    employees on all human resource related issues, activities, policies and
    procedures
  • Participate and ensure that all
    accidents preventive measures/systems are in place and there are zero
    accidents in line with the company’s strategic objective
  • Submit weekly reports to the Human
    Resource Manager and participate in all internal and external audits
    accordingly
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the
    supervisor

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The Mukwano Human Resource Administrator
    must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational
    Psychology or other related discipline
  • Possession of a post graduate
    qualification in Human Resource Management is an added advantage
  • At least two years of experience in
    Human Resource Management in a busy set up
  • Knowledge of existing labour laws and
    attitudinal/employee engagement surveys
  • Knowledge of all HRM cycle functions
  • Integrity, flexible, good interpersonal
    skills, effective communication, problem solving, counseling and decision
    making skills.
  • Should have a positive attitude,
    self-driven, result focused, creative, innovative, can work for long hours
    and under pressure with minimum supervision.
