include Investment, Insurance, Banking and Savings as well as a wider and more

Job Summary:  The Finance Manager will safeguard and
optimize the utilization of the company’s financial resources through the
implementation of appropriate accounting systems that ensure accurate and
timely production of financial information through efficient planning,
monitoring and control.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Establish proper accounting systems that facilitate the recording
    and production of accurate financial reports.
  • Prepare and submit company’s annual budgets to the Managing Director
    and the Board.
  • Manage the company working capital in order to meet its daily operations
    and meet its financial obligations.
  • Keenly review and upgrade existing accounting systems in line with
    the company’s operating, internal controls and technological requirements.
  • Prepare accounting and management reports in an accurate and timely
    manner, present these to the management team and the board and follow up
    the implementation of the related action plans.
  • Prepare special financial reports and analyses as may be required by
    the board from time to time.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts, monitor working capital and initiate
    appropriate actions including the investment of excess cash, inter-account
    transfers and debt collection.
  • Set performance targets for departmental staff, allocate work,
    review performance and train staff as needed.
  • Oversee and approve purchasing requisitions as needed and authorize
    supplier payments
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors as and when necessary.
  • To maintain relationships with the company’s banks and suppliers and
    other service providers to ensure that the company receives excellent
    service at all times.
  • Perform any other duties as required commensurate with the level of
    the position.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a university degree in
    Commerce/BBA/Accounting with a major in Finance coupled with accounting
    professional qualification in ACCA/CPA, basic insurance training and IT
    certification.
  • Seven years of working experience in several accounting areas
    including financial reporting and management accounting, treasury, tax and
    audit.
  • Knowledge of an integrated accounting system and Microsoft packages
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of local custom and excise duties,
    VAT, Withholding and corporate tax laws.
