commercial banking services to various sectors of the economy including
financial support to Parastatals, Corporates, Small and Medium Enterprises,
Individuals, and Non-Governmental Organisations.
Job Summary:  The Branch Manager will plan and implement an
effective sales and growth strategy as well as monitor the progress of new and
existing products; establish and maintain positive customer relationships, as
well as oversee operations at the branch in line with TBL business objectives,
customer service policies and operations procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Conduct market intelligence and competitor analyses within the
    branch’s area of operation in order to prepare marketing plans and
    strategies, with an objective of identifying business opportunities and
    maximizing them to achieve targeted branch growth in line with the bank’s
    business goals and objectives.
  • Increase customer retention and branch growth through aggressive
    cross sell of the bank financial products, and thereby promote an optimum
    build-up of revenue in line with the branch targets and TBL business
    objectives.
  • Monitor and implement compliance to the credit risk frame work
    through comprehensive loan appraisal and monitoring, aggressive follow ups
    on defaulters and proactively managing borrowers in order to maintain
    portfolio asset quality within acceptable levels in line with the credit
    policies and business goals.
  • Oversee operational activities at the branch to ensure that risk is
    effectively managed in all branch operations and enforce strict adherence
    to the bank’s regulatory and operational policies and guidelines in order
    to achieve satisfactory audit and compliance ratings and safeguard the
    bank’s business.
  • Recommend development and review of various products and operational
    processes based on comments from branch staff, customer’s feedback and
    market research, to support TBL in serving its customers better in line
    with the business objectives.
  • Budget for and manage costs at the branch by guaranteeing optimum
    utilization of resources both material and human capital, availed for
    business operations, ensuring that they are within the approved budget in
    line with finance policies and procedures.
  • Carry out regular snap checks on tellers’ tills, strong room, Pin
    Mailers, ATM card stock, ATM Cash and cheque book stock to minimize
    operational lapses likely to compromise the bank’s business in line with
    the operations manual and business goals.
  • Verify and authorise a variety of customer requests and officer
    initiated transactions aptly, achieving the set turnaround time in line with
    customer service policies and TBL business goals.
  • Improve customer service quality results at the branch by studying,
    evaluating, and re-designing customer care strategies; establishing and
    communicating service metrics; monitoring and analysing results;
    implementing changes in line with TBL goals and objectives.
  • Build, develop and motivate a high performance team committed to
    achieving success through each other by coaching, mentoring and evaluating
    the branch staff as well as managing leave at the branch in line with HR
    policies and procedures.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the Tropical Bank Limited Branch Manager job
    placement must hold a bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Economics or Social
    Sciences or Business Administration.
  • Six years of experience in banking
