• Assists with compiling vehicle specification and maintenance
  schedules, in cooperation with Fleet Officer, workshops, supplier’s
  manufacturers as necessary.
• Organizes/conducts condition reports on vehicles and plant as
  necessary for the purpose of insurance, sales and purchase.
• Arranges in consultation with Fleet Officer disposal of vehicles and
  plant.
• Programmes regular inspection of fleet and contracted vehicles to
  confirm that drivers are carrying out their legal responsibilities of daily/weekly
  checks and train as necessary.
• Assist in maintenance of vehicles service and inspection records and
  ensure compliance with donor and manufacturers servicing schedule.
• Assists to collate and maintain standard times for maintenance and
  repair work
• Ensures that obsolete stock, equipment and wastes is disposed off as
  recommended.
• Undertakes physical verification of MTI assets including fleet and
  analyse management of assets by proving required recommendation.
• Initiates timely write off for equipment beyond economic repair or
  past life expectancy
• Maintains updated information collected during physical inspection.
• Assist in monitoring the programme and operational vehicles and
  monitor fuel consumption.
• Assist in vehicle dispatch, coordination and management of fleet
  movement and rotation
• Maintains accurate and comprehensive records on logistical
  activities and ensures appropriate filing of logistics documents.

• The Medical Teams International Fleet Assistant job must hold a
  University degree or diploma in any of the following: Transport,
  Logistics, Fleet Management, Business Administration, mechanical
  engineering attained from a recognized institution.
• One year of progressively responsible experience working in Logistics
  or Fleet; for holders of Diploma at least 2 years’ experience. 
• Computer
  skills-MS Word & Excel a MUST.
