work, rehabilitation, training, education and health strengthening in the UK
and East Africa. Mildmay Uganda is a faith- based local Non-Governmental
Organisation (NGO) offering Comprehensive HIV Care & treatment, Training,
Research & General Medical Services; also providing Health Systems
Strengthening to scale up comprehensive HIV/AIDS Services in 16 districts of
Central Uganda.
Job Summary:  The PMTCT Volunteers will provide a
comprehensive package of PMTCT services across the continuum of care to PMTCT
clients and their families with the aim of reducing Mother to Child
transmission of HIV to less than 3%. They will be responsible for identifying
HIV infected pregnant, lactating mothers and infants at all entry points,
enrollment and retention in care up to 24 months.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Mildmay
    PMTCT Volunteer job opportunity must hold a Certificate in midwifery or
    Nursing; a Diploma will be an added advantage
  • Must be registered with the Nurses and
    Midwives Council
  • Two years of experience in Midwifery or
    Nursing
  • Must be in possession of a valid
    practicing Licence
  • Demonstrable knowledge of PMTCT
  • Working knowledge of English and other
    local language
