Programme (WFP) is the United Nations frontline agency against world hunger. It
is the largest and longest serving humanitarian agency in Uganda. Currently
WFP focuses on three priority areas: Saving lives in Emergencies; Building
Resilience through Predictable Safety Nets; Improving Nutrition &
Mother-and Child Health; and Supporting Small Holder Farmers to Access Markets.
WFP has operations in various parts of the Country.
Business Support Assistant (Fuel) will mainly deliver a range of routine
business support tasks, to ensure that staff are effectively supported.
Administration Associate, the incumbent will carry out the following duties:
- Responsible for receipt of fuel from the supplier into WFP tanks and
checks to ensure the quantity in the delivery note tally with that
delivered and invoiced; - Maintains safe custody of fuel delivered in the fuel tanks by
keeping fuel access under lock and key; - Monitors fuel disbursement and ensure timely replenishment whenever
fuel reaches the re-order level; - Disburses fuel to different agencies as per approved fuel issue
vouchers/coupons; - Maintains up-to-date records relating to fuel receipts, issues and
balances; - Prepares end-of-month fuel utilization reports to both WFP and Inter
agency; - Carries out perpetual inventory of fuel to tally the physical and
recorded fuel stock and report fuel variances discovered; - Regularly issues fuel for office generators;
- Monitors the generators and report when they are due for service;
- Monitors fuel storage and dispensing equipment namely: tanks and
pumps and report any actual or suspected defects that may arise into loss; - Maintains records of WFP vehicle maintenance and mileages for
purposes of tracking utilization and maintenance costs
- The ideal candidate for the United Nations UN World Food Programme
(WFP) Business Support Assistant (Fuel Attendant) job placement should
have completed secondary school education. - At least three or more years of experience in general administrative
work with at least one year in data entry or clerical duties - Knowledge of standardised business support work routines and
methods. - Knowledge of standard office software packages, e.g. Microsoft word.
- Uses tact and courtesy to give and receive information with a variety
of individuals. - Good attention to detail in order to identify data discrepancies.
- Ability to work to deadlines and follow clear instructions.
- Language: Fluency
in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the
duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different.
