Job Summary: The
Marketing and Communications Coordinator will support the marketing department
in the marketing planning process and ensure that quality marketing and
communications materials for PSIU and its brands are in place.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Develop proactive, consistent channels of communication to reach
    internal and external stakeholder groups.
  • Work with different departments to establish key messages which
    differentiate PSI- Uganda’s areas of expertise and health areas of focus.
  • Build a PSI-Uganda Communications calendar to define timing for
    messaging throughout the year.
  • Work with People and culture department to clarify expectations for
    communications with PSI-Uganda staff and maintain share-point.
  • Working with the PSI global communicayions team, ensure alignment of
    PSI Uganda and PSI Global communications strategies especially in light of
    the changing environment.
  • Work alongside the EMT to develop an advocacy strategy and plan for
    key policy issues impacting the work of PSI-Uganda.
  • Provide support in development of marketing plans for the various
    programmes, and execution of those marketing plans upon approval.
  • Ensure PSIU Presentation excellence at donor visits and events at
    which PSIU is involved such as:
o       
Provide
support during donor visits including drafting facility and provider profiles,
as well as meeting any special needs they might require.
o       
Provide
support for PSIU events for branding, photography, corporate giveaways, and
media publicity including liaising with journalists and drafting press
releases.
o       
Develop
and drafting content for the PSIU & ProFam newsletters and the annual
report.
o       
Coordinating
production and distribution of items that inculcate the PSIU brand identity
like calendars, notebooks, diaries, apparel, etc.
  • Social Marketing Department focal point in procurement, managing
    departmental budgets, awarded contracts and coordinating the production
    and/or implementation of behavior change communications including
    production of IEC materials, media buying and monitoring.
  • Development and maintenance of the Organisation’s Website and
    internal share points.
  • Coordination of all departments to ensure timely input into and
    production of the Annual Report.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the Marketing and
    Communications Coordinator must hold a degree in Mass Communication,
    Marketing or any other related field.
  • Two to three years’ experience in
    Marketing and communications in
    general;
  • Background in Social Franchise;
  • Understanding of local health care and
    small and medium enterprises systems is a plus;
  • External and internal experiences a
    plus.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational,
    oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking
    skills;
  • High level of attention to details in
    all aspects of work responsibilities;
  • Commitment to deadlines;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to
    effectively interact with all levels of staff, external stakeholders and
    partners;
  • Expanded computer skills including
    experience using word processing, database and spreadsheet software;
  • Highly self-driven and is passionate
    about what they do.
