Job Summary:
The Community Planning Officer will be responsible for the implementation of
activities under the Foundational Purpose (Gender and Good Governance) to a
high-quality programming standard. The incumbent will work in close
collaboration with the Gender and Governance Officers to implement activities
under the Foundational Purpose to a high-quality programming standard.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant must hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree
  • The Community Planning Officer should have three years of related work
    experience
  • Excellent understanding of the gender dimensions in the development
    context and gender sensitive development approaches.
  • Very good knowledge of approaches to women empowerment and gender
    equality.
  • First-hand knowledge of gender dynamics in Karamoja is a MUST
    Profound understanding of the gender legal and policy framework in Uganda.
  • Demonstrated skills in networking, collaboration, education,
    community consultations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to pay keen attention to detail, to follow procedures and meet
    deadlines and a good team player. 
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Willingness to work in any of the Nuyok programme duty stations.
  • Proven motorcycle riding skills and possession of a valid riding
    license. 
  • Knowledge of local language (Nga’Karimoiong) is a MUST.
