Job Summary: The Response
Innovation Lab Manager will establish and fundraise as well as guide the
strategic direction and manage the operations of the Uganda Response Innovation
Lab. The Lab Manager fundraise to support innovation in the Uganda Lab through
the RIL partners and by building the country wide humanitarian innovation
ecosystem. The Lab Manager will not only ensure innovation impact from projects
in the lab, but also create a focus on learning, pivoting and flexibility. The
Lab Manager will find country wide challenges, capacity, new ideas to move into
projects to improve humanitarian operations in Uganda and share with the global
Response Innovation Lab network. In the event of a major humanitarian
emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role
profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Save the Children Response
    Innovation Lab Manager job placement should hold an advanced university
    degree in international development, business administration, social
    policy, communications or related fields is desirable.
  • Five to seven years of experience in
    Humanitarian Operations and/or fragile development context, with at least
    two in management positions.
  • Local knowledge and local network are key
    to the function
  • This position requires a team player with
    leadership qualities, excellent flexible project management skills, a
    partnership guru, a professional and positive attitude, organization and
    dependability.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and to
    exercise independent judgment. and proficiency in written and spoken
    English.
  • Good oral/written and interpersonal
    skills.
