Job Summary: The Program
Officer School Health and Nutrition is primarily responsible for planning and
ensuring quality and timely implementation of the School Health and Nutrition
(SHN) core program within the designated sub counties. S/he is expected to
implement the SHN program in a manner that promotes integration with other core
programs of Sponsorship and cross cutting themes such as gender, disability,
child Protection and rights programming. The Job Holder also implements the SHN
program in collaboration with Sub county stakeholders and ensure meaningful
active participation of Children.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant for the Save the Children Program
    Officer School Health and Nutrition job placement should hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree or higher in a health related discipline
  • Three years of progressive experience in
    planning and implementation of school-based health and nutrition
    programmes.
  • Ability to speak the local language
    Luganda fluently is a strong requirement.
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle (Honda XL
    125)
  • Desirable
  • Demonstrable financial, planning and
    budget management skills a MUST with excellent planning, coordination and
    reporting skills, with the ability to organize a substantial workload
  • Computer literacy and excellent
    documentation skills are a must.
  • Availability and willingness to work extra
    hours during times of humanitarian responses.
  • Previous experience of working with local
    partners and District Local Government
