Job Summary: The Public
Health Engineering Officer will carry out assessment, planning, design and
implementation of public health engineering components of the Oxfam
humanitarian WASH programme in line with the Oxfam’s strategy in Uganda.Ensure
PHE interventions are integrated into the entire emergency response program and
share learning across other sectors. Ensure that the promotion of women’s
rights is at the heart of all Oxfam in Uganda’s program work.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  
  • The
    ideal candidate for the Oxfam Public Health Engineering Officer job must
    possess professional qualifications in Civil or water and sanitation
    engineering
  • Two
    years of practical experience.
  • Substantial,
    demonstrable experience of emergency and development work, and an
    understanding of relevant issues.
  • Previous
    experience in budgeting, budget monitoring and expenditure forecasting.
  • A
    mature understanding of relevant issues derived from at least two years of
    field experience, preferably both in relief and development with an
    organisation similar to Oxfam.
  • Proven
    analytical skills and ability to think strategically, including the
    ability to think beyond the local programme context and to act within a
    regional framework.
