and duly registered with the NGO Board and NGO Forum. IAU is actively involved
in programs geared towards the protection and improvement of lives of disadvantaged
people living in urban and rural areas in Uganda and in the Great Lakes Region.
InterAid Uganda is focused on its thematic areas of Rights Protection,
Education, Livelihood & Food Security, Health (HIV&AIDS; Malaria;
Maternal and Reproductive Health), Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH),
Environment and Disaster Management and good Management and Governance systems.
Job Summary: The Programs
Officer will assist the Senior Programs Officer in planning, implementation and
management of all InterAid programs
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Direction: Support the Senior Programs Officer to roll
out organizational strategic directions, guidelines, tools, models and
frameworks across all programs.
Stakeholder Management: Shall participate in appropriate networks,
forums, meetings and conferences to build networks and share experiences that
influence policies.
Program Reporting:
  • Assist
    the Senior Programs Officer in documentation and reporting in line with
    agreed across all programs.
  • Provide
    support in preparation of monthly reports (progress against planned
    activities, expense against estimated budget) of program activities as per
    agreed schedule.
  • Document
    the best practices implemented, success stories and case studies of the
    community level changes for dissemination and learning.
  • Provide
    support to the Senior Programs Officer in preparation of weekly, monthly,
    semi-annual and annual reports of the program and activities (progress
    against delivery of outputs and achievement of outcomes, etc as per agreed
    schedule.
Process Management:
  • Support
    the Senior Programs Officer to Coordinate, and guide on project
    implementation, ensuring that it is executed according to the approved
    work plans.
  • Provide
    support in operational project site visit/field, monitoring, information
    gathering, sharing, and operational research to identify gaps and share
    findings as well as ways of addressing gaps identified.
  • Support
    in supervision of timely and quality implementation of project annual
    plans and targets.
  • Provide
    support in the development of proposals for resource mobilization as and
    when required.
  • Perform
    any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time in line
    with the position.
Program Administration: Participate in annual planning, budgeting and
implementation for all programme activities in line with planning and budgeting
guidelines and timelines.
Risk Management: Monitor and Address or report any risks to
management
Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal policies,
procedures, internal control systems, and processes in all transactions
including funder requirements.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The
    ideal candidate for the InterAid Uganda Limited (IAU) Programs Officer job
    opportunity should preferably hold a
    Bachelor’s Degree in Social work,
    Business Administration or other related field fr
    om a recognized institution
  • Possession of post graduate qualifications in
    Project Planning & Management course will be an added advantage
  • At least two years of relevant work experience
    in Project Planning and Management
  • Prior experience in Project Planning & Management is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High level of integrity
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Good proposal writing skills
  • Computer literate with knowledge of MS Word, MS
    EXCEL, MS Power point.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good team player
