Job Summary: The Project
Manager will provide technical and implementation support to the field-based
team and all field activities. They will ensure effective documentation of
project impact, as well as dissemination of learning from implementation and
operational research and will provide ongoing technical support to the
Sub-Recipients, Ministry of Health (MoH)/ National Malaria Control Programme
(NMCP) and other partners and stakeholders as relevant to the project scope and
in accordance with its approach to understanding and influencing positive
change in This role has an important capacity building function, which involves
working closely with all project’s partners.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant for the Malaria Consortium Project
    Manager career placement should hold a Master’s degree in International
    Health, Epidemiology or Communicable Disease Control or a Medical degree
    combined with substantial public health experience
  • Adequate experience working in public
    health implementation or communicable disease control in Africa
  • Substantial experience in project
    management, including relating to effective coordination and
    communication, report writing, financial management, and human resource
    management
  • Familiarity with the Ugandan health system
  • Demonstrable experience and capacity in
    effective monitoring and evaluation, including the design and conduct of
    surveys, data analysis and interpretation relating to both quantitative
    and qualitative methodologies, documentation and dissemination
  • Experience in designing and supervising
    behaviour change communications strategies
  • Experience in carrying out field-based
    operational research
  • Excellent communication skills, with
    strong leadership skills and a supportive management style
  • Excellent diplomacy and stakeholder
    liaison skills, and experience in working in partnerships to deliver
    programmes
