About US:
Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services in Uganda (for people with
disability) was established in 2006 as a private non-profit, non-governmental
organization and is supported by CBM (Christian Blind Mission). CoRSU
Rehabilitation Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre on Entebbe Road provides
Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Rehabilitation, mainly for children
with disability.
Job Summary: The Customer
Care Officer will ensure that patients and visitors to CoRSU are well received
and given the attention they require; and provide and promote a professional,
effective communication at all levels to both external and internal clients.
This position is one of great importance because the team member is responsible
for the client’s first impression of our Hospital. The post holder will be
responsible for dealing with all Customer enquiries in relation to the hospital
services, focusing primarily on patient care and management. He/she shall
deliver a service to meet the individual needs of all clients and wherever
possible resolving enquiries at first point of contact.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
        
To take responsibility for being the first point
of contact for clients and visitors and ensure that a high quality of service
is delivered at all times in liaison with other hospital departments.
        
Manage the OPD patient customer care and
administration processes efficiently and effectively and in the best interests
of the clients; book Out-Patient appointments, obtaining all the necessary
information when required.
        
Giving direction to patients in the Hospital and
ensuring they are explained all further procedures.
        
Ensure the safe custody and proper usage of all
OPD front desk equipment.
        
Ensure that all incoming calls to the OPD
Reception and Customer Service Line are received and dealt with promptly, in
line with agreed standards including weekends.
        
To identify customer needs, and utilize
appropriate questioning and listening skills; to identify and offer appropriate
solutions and ensure that clients are advised on alternative communication
methods including SMS and email facilities.
        
To conduct daily customer care ward rounds and
make regular reports.
        
Manage and maintain data including OPD customer
care desk records, patients’ needs, problems & concerns and implement
appropriate corrective actions.
        
Participate in Staff trainings, CMEs and
meetings.
        
Undertake any other duties that may be
reasonably requested of him or her.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
        
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a
Degree in Social Sciences or Social Administration, Public Relations, or
Development Studies.
        
Certificate in Customer Care is essential
        
Three years of work experience in a busy health
care setting.
        
Excellent computer skills
