Job Title:        Caterer

Mengo Hospital was founded in 1897 in Kampala, and is the oldest
hospital in Uganda. It currently serves as an urban community hospital that
provides modern medical care. Mengo Hospital provides comprehensive care
including radiology, obstetrics, dentistry, orthopedics, and surgery.
Additionally, Mengo Hospital provides critical training and education to health
professionals through its various programs in midwifery and nursing, health
sciences, and laboratory technology. Mengo Hospital also has a dedicated
research and development team that works to find new solutions to health issues
in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Caterer
will arrange the delivery, preparation and presentation of food for clients
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Supervising all kitchen staff
  • Appraising the performance of all kitchen
    staff
  • Prepare duty rosters for kitchen staff
  • Ensure provision of quality meals to
    students
  • Preparing periodic reports to the School
    Administrator
  • Organize and chair section staff meetings
  • Attend to students’ complaints regarding
    feeding
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene are
    maintained at the school kitchen
  • Ensure accountability for all resources
    and assets at the kitchen
  • Ensure that cooks are equipped with food
    supplies and tools they need at all times.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate should hold a
    Certificate in catering or any other related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience in
    similar roles preferably in a Schools’ Setting.
  • Men are encouraged to apply
  • Ability to work efficiently and keep calm,
    under pressure
  • Ability to work quickly but efficiently
  • High standards of personal hygiene
  • Good organizational skills
  • Time management skills
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Communication and team working skills.
  • Age: Below 40 years
