Mother-and Child Health; and Supporting Small Holder Farmers to Access Markets.
WFP has operations in various parts of the Country.
Job Summary: The Human
Resources Business Partner will support the delivery of the HR Strategy and
Country Office Wide priority on the “Transformation of HR” by being the advisor
on all HR policies and processes and to assist in the delivery of HR programmes
in the area office/field.  Reporting to Moroto
Head of Area Office, the incumbent will work closely with the Area Office
Management, advising on all HR related issues and ensuring the effective
execution of change. He/she will use his/her knowledge and management of HR
Information Systems to provide insight and ensure data reliability for the area
office and field teams.  In addition, the
incumbent will perform a cross-section of all HR related aspects within the
jurisdiction of the area office. These will include, provision of support,
guidance and advice on HR issues. The Human Resources Business Partner will take
responsibility for the completion of a full range of HR activities requiring
some interpretation of standard guidelines and practices. The Job holder can
recommend a course of action within their area of expertise and may provide
guidance to other staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The
    Human Resources Business Partner manages and provides guidance on HR
    related matters at the Area /Field Office level in line with HR policies
    and procedures;
  • Initiates,
    coordinates and rolls-out all HR internal communication messages;
  • The
    incumbent prepares and provides accurate information, collating &
    analysing data and producing clear, insightful and meaningful reports;
  • Manages
    the development and implementation of HR solutions by understanding how
    the organization works;
  • The
    jobholder also manages the talent acquisition process;
  • Manages
    the delivery of effective on-boarding experiences;
  • Coaches
    Managers and area office /field office HR Focal points on Performance
    Management tools
  • Ensures
    all staff in operations have job descriptions, TORs and valid contracts;
    and a copy of the Annual Performance Plan (APP);
  • Manages
    the communication and administration of learning and capability building
    interventions;
  • Manages
    the implementation of learning needs and skill gap analyses;
  • Role-models
    the ‘change-ready employee’ by remaining flexible, positive and open to
    change;
  • Communicates
    and engages on the vision for performance culture, high performing teams
    and
  • Champions
    individuals and successful change management processes;
  • Champions
    gender mainstreaming in the workplace
  • Works
    closely with Head of Field Offices and Field Offices HR Focal persons to
    manage staff leave and attendance records;



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The
    ideal candidate for the United Nations UN World Food Programme (WFP) Human
    Resources Business Partner job opportunity should hold a Master’s Degree
    in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences,
    Organisational Psychology or any other related fields, obtained from a
    recognized university.
  • Seven
    years of related working experience in human resources, operations
    acquired from a reputable organization.
  • Excellent
    command of oral and written English is essential.
  • Excellent
    communication skills
  • Extensive
    knowledge HR Business Partnering gained through relevant technical
    training and experience;
  • Good
    communication skills and understanding of HR principles and their
    application in order to respond to and resolve general HR queries;
  • Ability
    to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of individuals in
    order to provide a high quality support service;
  • Ability
    to collate, analyse and compile relevant data from a variety of sources in
    order to produce periodic reports for supervisor(s);
  • Computer
    literacy i.e. knowledge and experience using computer MS packages
