on improving market dynamics for medicines and diagnostics; lowering prices for
treatment; accelerating access to life-saving technologies; and helping
governments build the capacity required for high-quality care and treatment
programs.
Job Summary: The Senior
Associate -Strategic Information/Monitoring & Evaluation will be a critical
contributor to the team’s initiatives. S/he will provide analytical support to
the Ministry of Health STD/AIDS Control Program Strategic Information Unit as
well as the Implementation studies conducted by the CHAI-Uganda HIV Care and
Treatment program that will culminate in evidence-based programming. To this
end, the Senior Associate-Strategic Information/M&E will be required to
develop strategic relationships with the Ministry of Health, implementing
partners and various teams within CHAI Uganda. The Senior Associate-Strategic
Information/M&E must be able to function independently and flexibly and
have a strong commitment to excellence. CHAI Uganda places great value on

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Compile
    and analyze country level population and indicator performance data for
    HIV care and treatment services and related program activities to
    facilitate data driven decision making for the Ministry of Health STD/AIDS
    Control Program’s initiatives
  • Develop
    and refine information management tools/databases
  • Support
    the Monitoring & Evaluation aspects of research protocol and proposal
    development
  • Carry
    out desk research and literature reviews where needed, design tools and
    dashboards to collect, organize and analyze quantitative and qualitative
    research data and synthesize findings from available research data sets
  • Make
    presentations as needed on subjects related to the team’s work
  • Supervise
    data collection and quality assurance
  • Supervise
    and mentor program analyst
  • Perform
    any other responsibilities



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The
    ideal candidate for the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) Senior
    Associate -Strategic Information/Monitoring & Evaluation job placement
    should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in public health/epidemiology
    or a related technical field
  • Three
    years of related work experience
  • Advanced
    proficiency in computer packages such as MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as
    well as statistical packages such as STATA
  • Excellent
    analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and communication (written and
    verbal) skills
  • Practical
    project management experience
Desired:
  • Master’s
    degree in Public Health/ Epidemiology or related technical field
  • Previous
    experience in writing and publishing research
