Job Summary: The Office-Based
Sales Executive – Safmarine will be expected to deliver assigned volumes and
revenue targets, to monitor performance against Personal Objectives/KPI and
take corrective action where necessary and to own and develop your allocated customers.
The successful candidate will manage and establish profitable customer

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Deliver
    volume and yield targets while remaining focused on relationship building.
  • Manage
    sales pipeline, segmentation, and accurate forecasting.
  • Monitor
    performance against KPI and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Improve
    customer satisfaction and loyalty, measured by NP Scores and Customer
    Survey Feedback on Sales Elements for Access and Experience.
  • Own
    and develop the allocated customers.
  • Manage
    the selling process to external customers, including pricing contract
    negotiations.
  • Pro-actively
    search, qualify, develop and engage in new customer relationships.
  • Identify
    account needs, opportunities and key buying factors for existing
    customers, and formalize those into account plans and strategies.
  • Own
    strong, multi-level relationships with new and existing customers
    (including main decision makers and influencers).
  • Effectively
    handover to Customer Service, Operations, Finance for terms and conditions
    agreed with customers in their contracts.
  • Actively
    engage Customer Service in relevant customer contacts to improve strategic
    relationships & proactively resolve problems.
  • Analyze
    Market Intelligence sources and use data to drive sales efforts and lead
    generation.
  • Actively
    manage key stakeholders at origin and other contact offices to ensure
    relationships are built and improve Safmarine visibility.
  • Monitor
    sales pipeline to ensure targets are met.
  • Engage
    TNM desks at destination and origin to ensure rate offers are promptly
    addressed and as per authorized limits.
  • Ensure
    Customer Relationship Management Tools (Salesforce.com and others) are
    updated on time with high quality data



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate must hold a Degree in a business related course
  • Two
    to five years experience in sales, marketing or shipping and logistics.
  • The
    applicant should have a broad inderstanding The Safmarine Way and what it
    means to work for Safmarine and its brand values.
  • Ability
    to engage with people at various levels.
  • Good
    command in written and spoken English.
  • Excellent
    interpersonal and presentation skills.
