Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design, Update (review) and Implement project monitoring tools as per
    project M&E plan and ensure use of appropriate tools in collection,
    compilation, analysis and utilization within the consortium to ensure
    consistency
  • Support the development and rollout of project targets and standards to ensure
    delivery of quality outputs.
  • Provide technical guidance on the utilisation
    and maintenance of the project M&E database.
  • Support Ni-Yetu programme staff to develop
    M&E section of project outlines (POs)
  • Support project staff and partners to develop Detailed Implementation Plans in
    line with the proposal
  • Consolidate, track and share on a quarterly
    basis the Project’s DIP to ensure timely implementation
  • Consolidate, Coordinate, and analyze the weekly
    consortium updates to
    ensure that all consortium members are abreast of what each member is
    doing, where, how and when.
  • Support the project team to ensure that both
    the project targets and implementations factor in inclusiveness
    particularly for PWDs.
  • Conduct monthly field support visits in all the Niyetu Intervention districts
  • Consolidate, track and share on a monthly basis
    action points agreed upon in all Niyetu meetings including review
    meetings.
  • Regularly track project progress and update the
    project logs in the SAP to
    enhance efficient and effective implementation.
  • Monitor and consolidate project implementation
    findings against approved work plans and budgets to ensure timely and
    quality implementation as per contractual obligation
  • Provide strategic leadership in the project’s research, project
    evaluations, organisational learning and documentation initiatives within
    the project
  • Ensure that all partners update on a monthly
    their respective M&E database as per the system in place.
  • Maintain and update project M&E database to ensure timely
    and quality data for evidence-based decision making and learning
  • Building activities for the project/program
    staff and partners to enhance quality reporting and data management.
  • Support project staff including partners in all monitoring and documentation
    related activities including utilization of the corporate M & E system
    in the partner organisations
  • Visit the sponsored children on a regular
    basis.
  • Support to ensure that the entire project’s
    programming mainstream
    Gender, DRR, Child Protection and sponsorship integration.
  • Support the project team to ensure that the
    registered project risks are regularly mitigated, tracked and updated as
    required.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The
    applicant for the Plan International MER Coordinator NIYETU Project job
    opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies/
    Social Sciences or its equivalent.
  • Relevant technical training in Monitoring,
    evaluation and research, software (MS office, data processing and
    analysis, database design etc.)
  • Three years of progressively responsible
    experience doing Monitoring and Evaluation including also familiarity with
    Project/Programme Management, development in child rights programing
  • Knowledge on data management is highly
    essential.
  • Three years of experience in working with different partners.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of rights-based
    programmes
  • Knowledge of environment and current effective
    practice on monitoring & evaluation
  • Skills in Programming.
  • Demonstrable abilities in planning and coordination
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability
    to work with people from diverse cultures
  • Ability to lead and motivate people to work in
    teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both in written
    English and in face-to-face presentations
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Skills in Research methodology
  • Analytical skills
  • Proven computer skills and knowledge of
    Microsoft software including MS Word processing, Power point presentation,
    Excel spreadsheets, e-mail and web based research
  • Open to feedback and willing to try new approaches on monitoring and
    documentation
